CARE+CONNECT Digital Platform

1. Who we are

This platform is operated as part of the CARE+CONNECT project (Erasmus+ Project No: 2025-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000357751), a European collaboration focused on student mental health and wellbeing in higher education.

This platform is managed and monitored by the Care+Connect project consortium. This project involves partners based in Ireland, Germany, Cyprus, Romania, Poland, and Spain. 

2. What data we collect

When you register and use this platform, we collect the following:

Account information: your email address, username, and password. Your password is stored in encrypted form and is not visible to the project team.

Profile information (optional): your country and role (e.g., student or staff). This information is required at registration and is used to understand who is using the programme and to meet project reporting requirements. You may also optionally provide your institution. 

Course activity data: which modules you have started and completed, quiz scores, and time spent on modules. This is collected automatically by the platform’s learning management system (LearnDash).

Questionnaire responses: your answers to the wellbeing questionnaires at the start and end of each module. These are used to evaluate the programme’s effectiveness.

Reflective writing: your written responses to reflection and self-assessment activities within the course. These may include personal reflections on your mental health and wellbeing.

Technical data: cookies and basic technical information required for the platform to function, such as your browser type and device. See Section 7 (Cookies) below.

3. Why we collect your data

We process your data for the following purposes:

To provide you with access to the CARE+CONNECT course, including personalised progress tracking and quiz results. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, provided at registration.

To evaluate the effectiveness of the programme as required by the Erasmus+ funding agreement. This includes analysing questionnaire responses and course completion data. All evaluation data is reported anonymously in aggregate form. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in programme evaluation.

To maintain and improve the platform’s functionality. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in providing a working service.

4. Who can access your data

Your data is accessible to the CARE+CONNECT project team responsible for platform administration and programme evaluation. This includes a small number of staff at Spectrum Research Centre who manage the platform.

Individual responses to wellbeing questionnaires and reflective activities are only accessed by the project team for programme evaluation purposes. All findings are reported anonymously in aggregate form. No individual responses are shared publicly or included in project reports in identifiable form.

Your data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or transferred to any third party for commercial purposes.

5. How long we keep your data

Your account and course data are retained for the duration of the CARE+CONNECT project and for 12 months after the project ends, to allow for final evaluation and reporting. After this period, all personal data will be permanently deleted.

You may request deletion of your data at any time before this date (see Section 6).

6. Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

Access your personal data and receive a copy of it.

Correct any inaccurate personal data.

Delete your personal data. Upon request, we will delete your account and all associated data, including quiz responses, questionnaire answers, and reflective writing.

Withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent means your account and data will be deleted and you will no longer be able to access the platform.

7. Cookies

This platform uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function, including session cookies that keep you logged in and remember your course progress. These do not require your consent.

8. Health data

Some activities on this platform invite you to reflect on your mental health and wellbeing. These responses are classified as special category data under GDPR and receive additional protection. This data is processed solely on the basis of your explicit consent, provided at registration. You may withdraw this consent and request deletion of this data at any time.

9. Children

This platform is designed for university students and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email.
