Module 3: Developing Problem-Solving Skills

1) Module Aim
This module introduces students to structured problem-solving skills based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. Students will learn how to break down overwhelming situations into manageable steps, generate realistic solutions, evaluate options, and build confidence in coping with academic, personal, and emotional challenges.
2) Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, learners will be able to:
- Explain the role of problem-solving in emotional wellbeing and stress management.
- Identify common barriers that interfere with effective problem-solving.
- Apply a step-by-step CBT problem-solving model to everyday challenges.
- Generate and evaluate possible solutions to academic or personal difficulties.
- Develop realistic action plans to address manageable problems.
