CARE+CONNECT | Module 4

1) Module Aim 

This module helps students recognise the coping strategies they use when facing stressful academic situations and understand how different coping responses can influence their wellbeing and performance. Learners will explore common coping patterns that appear during exams, deadlines, academic feedback, or workload pressure, distinguish between helpful and unhelpful strategies, and practise developing more flexible ways of responding to academic challenges.

2) Learning Outcomes

By the end of the module, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify coping strategies they commonly use in stressful academic situations.
  2. Distinguish between adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies.
  3. Explain how different coping strategies influence emotional responses and behaviour in academic situations.
  4. Apply more helpful coping responses to common academic challenges.
  5. Develop a simple personal coping plan for everyday university situations.
